Sea Kayak Essentials OVERVIEW This full-day program on Vermont's inland sea, Lake Champlain, is the perfect beginner or refresher course for paddlers who want to experience open-water kayaking on lakes and oceans. We'll start off the day learning about boat design and features, important paddling accessories, and safety practices. Next, we'll move onto learning and demonstrating proper paddling techniques, followed by solo and assisted offshore rescues. The day finishes with a tour on the lake. Depending on conditions and group abilities, we'll either head south to the Burlington waterfront or north along the cliffs of Lone Rock Point and Appletree Bay. We are looking for a hardworking and detail-oriented person for this full-time seasonal position.  This fast-paced position would oversee and run our expanded river programming and summer boat rentals. An ideal candidate would be willing to be cross trained in retail and work the extent of the summer season. Job Responsibilities: Use a point-of-sale system to make reservations. Run tubing shuttles on the Winooski River. Maintain company  vehicles. Rent boats and educate/aid customers on proper use and transportation. Back up retail staff when needed. Educate customers on opportunities around them in regard to boating/tubing in the area. Work Hours & Benefits This position is 9-6 but varies on time of year and holidays.
