Introduction To Kayaking OVERVIEW This is a great first step to learning about kayaking. The class is taught in recreational kayaks, which offer the stability that new paddlers need. We will learn about carrying kayaks, launching and getting out of our kayaks, basic paddling strokes, and maneuvering your craft. Learn the right way right from the start. Umiak Outfitters has been a leader in Vermont for over 30 years, providing day and nighttime tours to thousands of clients. Assist in guiding groups of 4-14 on 30 min to 4-hour day and nighttime Snowshoe, Extreme Sledding, X-Country / Backcountry Skiing, and Boarding, and Dog Sledding adventures. Develop programming skills, trip planning, and equipment maintenance, trail building and maintenance, food preparation, emergency protocol, and more. Our outpost is at the lake's edge of the Waterbury Center State Park . We'll provide all the necessary equipment, including lifejackets and paddles, as part of the boat rental fee. No advanced booking is accepted for this activity, arrive anytime between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM for a 2-hour rental. The Waterbury Reservoir serves a diverse range of users, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect for fellow visitors, the environment, and local wildlife.
