T-Formex
T-Formex is a high-tech ABS plastic laminate engineered for durability and structural memory, making it an ideal material for canoes. Constructed in layers akin to a “sandwich,” T-Formex includes foam for buoyancy and rigidity, a vinyl layer for protection and integrity, and a special outer layer that ensures abrasion and UV resistance. The sheets are molded to create various canoe shapes, tailored for specific uses, enhancing strength where needed. T-Formex is inherently buoyant, providing crucial safety features by preventing sinking if capsized, and is superior to other materials like 3-layer and thermoformed canoes due to its resistance to heat and UV damage. Although heavier than composite materials such as fiberglass and Kevlar, T-Formex outperforms in durability, reliability, and performance, making it suitable for a wide range of paddling environments.
