This guided instructional tour will bring you to some of Stowe's most premier backcountry on a full-day instructional ski adventure. Umiak's certified backcountry guide will teach proper safety protocol and the necessary safety gear needed before heading into the backcountry. Learn valuable skills in applying, removing and storing of climbing skins and operation of the AT binding as well as other important BC equipment. We will work on different climbing techniques as well as an efficient skin to ski transition prior to a powder-filled downhill run. Intended for intermediate, to advanced alpine skiers that want to expand their comfort level and skills in backcountry skiing.
