The course will cover ACA Level-1: Introduction to Kayaking, and Leve2: Essentials of Kayak Touring. The level of certification gained will depend on the experience and skill level of the candidate. Only participants who meet the skills and instructing requirements will receive certification.
This is an excellent course for waterfront personnel who teach canoeing and/or kayaking on Lake Champlain and other bodies of water.
This training combines both the instructor development workshop (IDW) and instructor certification exam (ICE). The time allotted for practicing skills is limited during this course so it is necessary that participants have paddling skills and experience beyond the level of certification. Previous experience teaching or leading is also recommended.
